Field guide / 03
There is no city hall in Dolan Springs. There is a community council, a water company, a school, a library, a volunteer fire district and a lot of neighbours who do the work themselves.
Dolan Springs is governed by Mohave County, not by a town council. That keeps taxes and bureaucracy thin, but it also means residents rely on special districts, nonprofits and each other for the things a city would normally provide.
The Dolan Springs Community Council (DSCC) is the civic hub. Incorporated in 1968 and now a 501(c)(3), it runs forums, clean-ups, the annual Christmas dinner and community events, and works with the county and BLM on local priorities.
Water comes from the member-owned Mt. Tipton Water Company. The library is part of the Mohave County Library District. The school is part of Kingman Unified. Fire and EMS are provided by the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire District — a very large district with very long response times.

03 — Practicalities
Rural living is a set of arrangements, not a brochure. These are the first calls most new residents make.
Contact Mt. Tipton Water to ask about service. If you have a private well, test it before drinking and check Mohave County's well permitting rules.
Water companyNew builds, additions, septic systems and grading all run through Mohave County Development Services. Start with the permit desk, not the contractor.
Development ServicesThere is no municipal trash service. Arrange private hauling, use the county landfill system, and report illegal dumping through E.R.A.C.E.

Library04 — Support
Rural isolation is real. These organisations exist to reduce it — and they are always short of hands.
A volunteer-run St. Vincent de Paul pantry serves hundreds of residents every month. Distribution days vary; call the DSCC or ask at the library for current information.
